Rossini is one of the leading composers of this edition, which revives the great bel canto hours of the Festival. Indeed, the many facets of Rossini’s genius – sometimes overlooked – include a rich production of melodies. Mezzo-soprano Karine Deshayes and baritone Florian Sempey – two exceptional ambassadors making their Festival debut – will guide us through this repertoire which ignores borders between languages and cultures, and offers some beautiful surprises.
