A strong and pure flame: Julia Bullock was the great revelation of Stravinsky's Rake's Progress at the Festival d’Aix in 2017. Since then, her career has taken off, combining a constant and demanding eclecticism, an emphasis on contemporary music and a high commitment to diversity. The first part of her portrait-recital very much reflects this and ranges from romantic lieder to jazz, including several Afro-American women composers little known in France.
