2021 OPÉRA DE-CI DE-LÀ RESTITUTION — Visionary | Sound
Discover the artists of the residency and their testimony about their work and their inspirations during this time in Aix-en-Provence. Designed to question opera and to experiment around its creative processes, the Opéra de-ci de-là residency of the Académie du Festival d'Aix offers a space for reflection and research guided by the intercultural dialogue and multidisciplinary practice.
Johannes Kepler's text Harmonices Mundi, carried by the analysis of Frédérique Aït-Touati, has been the initial source of inspiration for the new edition of this residency, tinged with months of global pandemic.
The cycle of poems Bruissements du cosmos written by Penda Diouf (Senegal) and Claire Tipy (France), at the heart of which is reflected a certain representation of courage, was the unifying element of the mini-operas developed by the 22 artists from 3 continents during 14 months of residency.
